ZyXEL Will Showcase a Range of Multi-Function Connectivity Solutions for the Smart, Gigabit Home at CES 2015

Hsinchu, Taiwan, 05 January 2015 – Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access, connected home and routing products, announced today that its FMG3586 – a multi-fiber, 802.11ac gateway with voice has been named a CES Innovations 2015 Design and Engineering Honoree in the Smart Home category. Zyxel will showcase this award-winning gateway at CES 2015, January 6-9.  Zyxel will also introduce WAP6805 - industry’s first 4x4 Multi User-Multiple Input Multiple Output (Mu-MIMO), AC2000 wireless video bridge at the show.

Zyxel’s showcase at CES2015 will include a broad range of multi-function connectivity solutions for the smart, gigabit home as well as live demonstrations of technologies that include fiber broadband, wireless 4K video streaming and OneConnect – an IEEE1905-based management application for networked home devices. The demonstrations will be held in Zyxel’s private suite at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel for customers and media by appointment. At CES 2015, Zyxel will display a series of devices that are integrated with leading edge networking technologies that include fiber, DSL, 802.11ac, MoCA, HomePlug powerline, HPNA and more. All these devices, like the award-winning FMG3586, are designed to give service providers flexibility in deploying premium services as well as a competitive edge in providing their customers with a richer broadband and home connectivity experience.

Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market. Zyxel has been the recipient of CES Innovations Honoree award for three consecutive years. CES 2015 winner, the FMG3586 is designed with small form-factor pluggable (SFP) WAN interface for multiple fiber connectivity options including Active Fiber, GPON and EPON. It includes premium AC2000 WiFi router with 4x4 MU-MIMO wireless technology for optimal performance on high bandwidth applications such as HD video streaming with multiple WiFi clients. In addition, two voice ports, two USB ports, six gigabit Ethernet ports and TR069 management support make this a powerful, multi-service gateway for gigabit homes.

Zyxel WAP6805 is a 4x4 MU-MIMO, AC2000 wireless video bridge with integrated Quantenna technology that performs at gigabit wireless speeds for streaming multiple HD and 4K videos to several devices throughout a smart home. In addition to simultaneous video streaming, the WAP6805 also handles dual-band data traffic through an integrated AP function.

Consumers predominantly favor Wi-Fi over other networking technologies for all of their video and gaming needs. The WAP6805 gives service providers the perfect wireless video streaming solution for their multi-room IPTV service.
