Anaheim, CA, July 10, 2013 – Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access, connected home and routing products, successfully concluded its inaugural Day of Giving July 18, 2013 to “give back” to the community and help local non-profit organizations.
Zyxel offered all employees the option to spend half a work day, on July 18th, to volunteer for one of two select charities that included Trails4All and Second Harvest. A number of spouses, family and friends of Zyxel employees also joined in the activities. The event saw participation of over 80% of Zyxel employees, while the remaining employees stayed to support our customers during the event.
“Zyxel’s first Day of Giving was a very exciting experience for us,” said Steve Oberle, event organizer and Vice President Sales, Key Account Business Unit, Zyxel Americas. “It gave an opportunity to donate our time and energy to helping our community while having fun together.
“Zyxel has been a fixture in Orange County since 1991. We’re fortunate to have thrived thanks to our community’s support and we continue to remain accountable to them,” said Howie Chu, President Zyxel Communications, Americas. “This event also gives our employees an opportunity to take some time out of their busy schedules and family responsibilities and make a contribution to our community. We believe it will also foster team spirit among our Zyxel team.”

They tackled all the assignments with enthusiasm and speed,” said Barbara Wartman from Second Harvest. “With the Day of Giving event, Zyxel not only made a community contribution but they also gave their employees the satisfaction of being part of ending hunger in Orange County.”

Second Harvest is an organization dedicated to ending hunger in Orange County. Volunteers typically sort, label, and package food received by Second Harvest Food Bank from manufacturers and food drives. Trails4All is a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation, restoration and preservation of trails and open space throughout Southern California. They help bring trail users together to make

This particular project was clearing brush, trimming back bushes and trees, and assembling outdoor picnic tables on the grounds of Santa Ana’s Heritage Museum.
