Hsinchu Taiwan, 24 June 2020 - Zyxel Communications today announced the availability of its NR7101 5G NR Outdoor Router, the company’s first 5G Sub-6 fixed wireless broadband CPE. Designed to help service providers accelerate 5G NR development with added flexibility and minimal capital investment, the NR7101 is SA/NSA dual-mode compliant, easy to install, and provides remote management, enabling high-capacity, ultra-fast, yet low latency broadband services deployed across a wide range of geographic environments.

“It is expected that the 5G industrial module market will surge in 2022 with the extended 5G coverage accelerating versatile broadband applications, such as 4K/8K live streaming, AR/VR, and video conferencing,” said CP Liao, Zyxel Associate Vice President of Mobile Broadband BU. “As the Sub-6 band accounts for more than 90 percent of the total 5G device market, the launch of Zyxel NR7101 is a door knocker, allowing our global service provider partners with competitive FWA solutions to accelerate their 5G development, bringing consumer devices to the new 5G horizon.”

Lightning-fast Internet connectivity secures higher market shares
Supporting wide spectrum availability, including RF 4G LTE bands and new 5G NR C-band, the NR7101 delivers a 13.3 percent higher DL speed on the same bandwidth as 4G LTE. Featuring Zyxel’s embedded smart latency control mechanisms and dynamic algorithms, the NR7101 significantly reduces the round-trip delay time by 400 percent to less than 10 milliseconds, allowing subscribers to enjoy unmatched mobile broadband services on bandwidth-hungry, latency-sensitive applications.

SA/NSA dual-mode facilitates the 5G network development
The Zyxel NR7101 is interoperable with both Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) deployments. Dual-mode compliance allows service providers to reduce the initial investment associated with infrastructure upgrades and commercial deployments to provide 5G services ahead of the competition.

Remote management capabilities save the operating cost
Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) enables remote firmware upgrades for the NR7101. The TR-069 and MQTT remote dual management system further facilitates remote network configuration, monitoring, diagnostics, and bandwidth management. Combines with remote management, these features help service providers accelerate 5G NR FWA deployment while greatly reducing operating costs by eliminating the need for on-site technical support.

Environmental durability provides deployment flexibility
As the industry’s first IP68-certified outdoor router, Zyxel NR7101 can operate across a wide range of temperatures (40◦ to 60◦ Celsius) while resisting moisture, wind, and dust. This not only increases the geographic range for possible deployments but also eliminates hidden costs with a longer product life cycle.

Availability
The Zyxel NR7101 is now available for service providers in the EMEA region. Service providers can contact their local Zyxel representatives for availability. For more product information, please visit the Zyxel global website.
